League Q&A

What is it?

The NHYFL is a new Futsal League working with The Futsal Development Centre and Hampshire FA. It is the only exclusive Youth Futsal League in Hampshire and aims to grow over the coming years to provide Futsal for all ages.

Having run over 20 friendly matches at all ages as a ‘Taster’ to see the appetite for Futsal in the local area we are very confident that North Hampshire can really grow to be a string area in England for Futsal.

The initial age group will start at U11/12 level as this is the most popular section and offers a variety of teams and abilities. The NHYFL will offer regular friendly fixtures for U8, U10, U14 and U16 teams as well.

Where are the games played?

Matches are played indoors at Farnborough Leisure Centre, Farnborough. The venue has a viewing gallery alongside changing rooms, toilets, café and onsite parking.

When are the matches played?

Matches are played every Sunday morning at kick off times of 9am, 10am and 11am. Fixtures are 2 x 20 min halves with ample time for warm up, half-time and end of match handshakes.

Are there referees?

Yes, we will have a referee covering each match and, in almost all cases, these will be specialist Futsal qualified referees.

Will anyone else be present to ensure the smooth running of the league?

The referees will often be more than capable of running the matches alone, however in the first 2-3 months we will have a league co-ordinator present at all games to enable teams to ask any questions and get used to the new league.

How often will we be playing?

Teams will play roughly every 3 weeks. We are flexible and can make matches fit your schedule. Should you want to play more, we can also accommodate that.

How do I keep track of fixtures / results etc

The league will be administered and available for all to view through the FA Full-Time website.

Is it just a League or are there tournaments?

The league is aimed at development and not the win-at-all costs mentality that is sometimes seen at Grassroots level and therefore we won’t publish scores on our social media pages / website. We will keep track to ensure teams are playing at the appropriate level.

We anticipate high demand and should there be enough teams we would split into two divisions which would be constantly reviewed.

We will be running regular tournaments where, approximately once every 2-3 months all teams play in a Futsal Festival. Here all teams can play lots of games, discuss the league and suggest improvements to the league organisers.

We work closely with Hampshire FA who run the county qualifiers for the FA National Futsal Cup at all ages and will keep teams informed of other local leagues / tournaments / friendlies that they may wish to attend.

How much does it cost?

It costs just £10 to register your team and guarantee a place in the league (we do have a limit of teams to ensure appropriate fixtures).

Each fixture will cost £35 per team which is invoiced monthly.
